‘Merch’ can be so much more.

Blitwear: where fashion, 3D design and one of the OG blue chip NFT projects meet.

This project is pushing the boundaries of how Fashion and NFT communities can work together. All of the unique designs have been created by combining original Blitmap art with modern streetwear influences.

Each Blitwear will be auctioned off as a 1/1 NFT of the design. The winner of the piece will be able to redeem the NFT for a bespoke 1/1 matching physical garment, custom made to their size requirements.

The Blitwear auction is now live ending on Sunday 7.30pm EDT. Place a bid before it’s too late on OpenSea

The Collection

From bomber jackets and hoodies to t-shirts and sweatpants, the Blitwear Collection brings Blitmap to the physical world.

Each physical garment will contain a unique QR code pointing to the OpenSea listing.

The Blitwear varsity jacket

The Blitwear varsity jacket is an entirely bespoke piece, and we're auctioning five blank jacket NFTs that can be customized in the spirit of the original minting process. Winners not only select the Blitmap they want featured, but also can customize the colors of the jacket and accents according to their Blitmap.

 FAQs

  • This project is from the team at Core3D, an online 3D design and development platform for the fashion industry, led by Gwan Yip and Michael Giuliana. Core3D has helped brands such as Theory, Bonobos and Brooks Brothers increase their speed to market by reducing the dependency on physical products.

  • While we may be headed to the metaverse, we still inhabit the physical realm — NFT x IRL is a term that describes bringing digital items to the physical world (in real life). Many collectors are looking for ways to represent their digital collections in the real world. Core3D wants to create a collaborative environment to empower creators from the NFT space to cross from the digital space into the physical world.

  • We’ve admired the Blitmap project for a while. The minting experience is one of legend, where Blitmap gave collectors the agency to combine specific compositions and palettes to create an NFT. This has led to devoted group of collectors who have a high affinity to their pieces. We feel that this type of collector is looking for a high-end way to display some of their favorites.

Visit Blitmap’s website at www.blitmap.com for more information and follow their journey on social media [Twitter | Discord]

  • This question is typically asked by non-crypto natives—if you are looking to purchase a Blitwear NFT x IRL item and have never purchased an NFT, you will need to do the three steps below. A little lost? Please feel free to reach out to Core3D in our Discord. And as mentioned in Point 1, no one will ever ask for your seed phrase (more info below).

    1) Get an Ethereum wallet. Some popular wallets include Metamask, Coinbase or Rainbow. When you get the wallet, you will have to set it up, which includes writing down and securely storing something that is called a “seed phrase.” This phrase typically consists of 12 to 24 words. It is strongly advised that you *never* store this phrase online and instead have it stored in a secure physical place. The seed phrase is the only way to access your wallet—never give it to anyone. Scammers often pretend to be a “customer support representative” to get this phrase from you, but rest assured, no one from Core3D or any crypto platforms will ever ask you for that phrase.

    2) Fund your wallet with Ethereum. There are various ways of doing this, but perhaps one of the most straight forward is to set up a Coinbase account and transfer fiat (or local currency) to that account and purchase Ethereum. From there, you will have to transfer it to your wallet’s address. Coinbase has a very detailed article on how to do this. Please note that our lowest entry point items will have auctions that begin at around 0.12 Ethereum, with the bespoke varsity jackets starting around 0.5 Ethereum. We will finalize the price before the event based on production cost. You should plan to fund your wallet accordingly, as it does take a little bit of time for Coinbase to fund your wallet.

    3) Exchange your Ethereum (ETH) for Wrapped Ethereum (WETH) on Uniswap. OpenSea requires that you have something called “Wrapped Ethereum,” or WETH, in order to participate in their auctions. Without getting into the specifics, WETH has a 1:1 relationship with ETH and is just a wrapper to help facilitate transactions. OpenSea provides an explanation for how to swap out ETH to WETH (and vice versa) in a support article here. IMPORTANT NOTE: If after the auction you are looking to return your cryptocurrency to fiat, you must unwrap, or exchange, your WETH back to ETH before sending that back to your Coinbase wallet.

As you go through this process you will be asked to pay fees called “gas”—we address what this is in the next FAQ. Remember, if you go through this process and need help, please reach out to us on Discord—we will NEVER ask you to send us Ethereum or ask you for your seed phrase. Anyone who does this is a scammer.

  • Gas can be a confusing topic for non-crypto natives. Gas is a term for the fees that are paid to network of decentralized computers that provide processing power to authenticate a transaction to the public ledger. Gas fees can fluctuate depending on the overall traffic on the Ethereum network and cannot be avoided.

As a new user, you will have to pay this fee in two notable places: (1) to exchange your ETH for WETH (see previous FAQ of why you must do this) and (2) to have the ability to interact with OpenSea to place a bid. These fees will each most likely range between $20 and $50 dollars. We understand that gas fees can be confusing, and if you have never purchased an NFT before, please reach out to us on in our Discord.

  • All of the Blitwear collection will be sold on a four-day auction. The reserve price will range from 0.15 ETH for a t-shirt and 0.5 ETH for the customizable Varsity Jackets.

This price represents the costs we’ve incurred to bring this incredible 1/1 collection to life. We have not added any margin to the price.

This price will most likely increase as people bid on the garments. If you are new to the NFT space, you should consider this beforehand and ensure you have enough cryptocurrency available in your wallet as it can be somewhat time consuming to convert fiat to cryptocurrency.

Any profits made will go to Core3D, the startup company bootstrapped and founded by Gwan and Mike, so they can continue to develop the tools to support the Fashion and NFT sectors. The profits will also go towards gifts to our incredible team of advisors on the project.

  • Because these garments are 1/1 and are made specifically for you with high-quality fabric from Italy, the pieces will take between 4 and 8 weeks before they are shipped out to you.

  • Because these items are completely custom made, there is no return policy. We’ll work with each winner to create the best size for them following the standard XS/S/M/L/XL sizing.

  • This is our first foray into the NFT world and an experiment to see the appetite of collectors to get an incredibly high-quality, bespoke piece. Since this is a proof of concept, we focused our resources on the production of the physical garment to give collectors a superior IRL collectible.

Consequently, we are using the OPENSTORE shared contract on OpenSea to mitigate the costs of deploying a custom contract. While this is an 1155 token, we are minting each piece as a quantity of one. Once we prove Blitwear as a success, Core3D will evaluate developing our own solidity contract and may have a migration process for holders of this genesis collection to migrate their NFTs at that time.

  • Congratulations! Thank you for your support and we hope you love your physical Blitwear garment.

Please visit our ‘How to claim’ page for instructions

  • If an NFT has the phrase “CLAIMED” in the title and the metadata of “Physical Item Claimed?” value a “Yes,” the item has been claimed and you will be unable to claim a second garment.

  • One of the beautiful things about the NFT x IRL collection is that the NFT can serve as an authentication vehicle for the physical garment. This solves a major problem in the fashion and sneaker industries—too often high-end shoes (such as Jordans) are often fakes. Consequently, a boutique authentication industry has sprung up to ensure you get legitimate kicks.

If a physical Blitwear garment ever was to be on the secondary market, we highly encourage the seller to transfer the NFT to the buyer. This acts much in the same way as a title to a vehicle—if a person possesses both items, you have a high-degree of confidence that the item is authentic. We recognize that this may be a new concept for many but feel that this will quickly become a standard way of authenticating items in the near future.

Each original Blitwear will have a QR code stitched into the garment pointing to the OpenSea listing to show the transactional history of the accompanying NFT.

  • Cryptovoxels is virtual world that is on the Ethereum blockchain. Through the immutable nature of the blockchain, users can own pieces of digital land that they can develop. Often, individuals use this digital space to house their NFT collections in art galleries. Just as a pixel is an elemental piece of digital art, a voxel is an elemental three-dimensional building block. This is what gives the Cryptovoxel world a sort of primitive, blocky feel.

On the day of our launch, there will be a link that will connect you to the Cryptovoxel space for the Blitwear Collection release party. You will need to have an Ethereum wallet so that you can connect your digital avatar to the space.

  • A wearable is an item that you can place on your Cryptovoxel avatar. Wearables can include hats, shirts, pants and accessories. If you preregister for the Blitwear Collection launch party and include your Ethereum wallet address, we will airdrop (or send you for free) a special wearable for the event! This is a way to “dress up” your avatar for the party.

To add your wearable to your avatar, connect your Ethereum wallet to Cryptovoxels, click your wallet name on the top right (it should be in a purple-ish shade), click profile and then click Edit Costume. You will then be able to select the wearables from your wallet and add them to your avatar.

  • We will be giving away 5 special Blitwear Event NFT x IRL t-shirts. To be in with a chance to win, you’ll need to sign the Guest Book located in the stadium during the event (7pm - 10pm) and over the next 4 days we’ll be announcing winners on Twitter.

    Good luck!
